All was in place for a spectacular third round of the championship and the a show it has been in Siena for the turning point of the season after the first two rounds held in Sarno and Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata.
181 drivers got verified and entry lists were long in 60 Mini – with 59 drivers, new season record – and in KZ2 with 47 drivers on track but also KF3 had a good presence with 38 drivers, the KF2 with 22 and the new Formula 16 ACI-CSAI with 15 drivers on track.
The spectacle on track has been goo, starting from the most powerful category, KZ2 that lived also the thrill of a frightful incident at the start of Final-2 that luckily did not have serious consequences for the drivers involved.
In KF2 Luca Corberi (Kosmic-Vortex) won the first final with a big margin to the rivals. Second place for the classification leader, Julien Darras (Tony Kart-Tm) and third for Paolo Ippolito (Birel-Tm). Marco Moretti (Kosmic-Tm) ended fourth ahead of Callum Ilott (Zanardi-Tm) and Stefano Cucco (Intrepid-Tm). In the second Final Darras managed to recover well due to the grid inversion and got the lead from Marco Moretti that was again on the podium. Ippolito had to concede his third step of the podium as he was penalyzed due to bad behaviour by stewards together with Cucco as the two were given a 10 seconds penalty. The third place was inherited by Corberi, who reached the fourth place in the standings with 99 points, behind Darras at 152, Moretti at 106 and Ilott at 100, as the latter had to retire in race-2.
In KF3 Leonardo Pulcini (Tony Kart-Vortex) dominated Final one, ahead of classification leader Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart-Parilla) and the Russian Robert Shwartzman (Tony Kart-Tm). The second final was much more eventful with Remigio Garofano (Tony Kart-Lke) – seventh in race-1 – exploiting the grid inversion and got the lead of the race that he kept all the way to the flag. The Russian Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart-Vortex) followed him in second after the fourth place in race-1. On the podium again Pulcini in third that closed up to Alessio Lorandi in the classification as the latter now leads by two points after the fourth place in race-2.
